2012

Welcome to 2012. A great deal of shit will be going down and coming out this year. If you want to stay privy, make sure you keep your ear on.

For instance, we’re in the studio right now finishing up the mixing of the Live Queen Show album (that’s right, finishing!), so I don’t have a lot of time to jackalack around.

In the interest being brief, I have some quick announcements that should make some people happy. We’ve been summoned again by fancy fellows at A And G Ohio to bring pounds and pounds of fury to their lovely event, and who are we to ignore a summons from fancy fellows?

MARCH
10th – Cincinnati, OH – A And G Ohio —- ALL AGES

Another exciting gold nugget of awesome is that we have indeed been invited back to PAX East in Boston. It’s going to be the most real.  If you haven’t already gotten your tickets, do so immediately. It will sell out soon. You don’t want to miss this.

APRIL
06th – Boston, MA – PAX East —- ALL AGES

Many of you already know about this from our Facebook and Twitter machines, but The Deli Magazine in Nashville has, once again, put us in a violent alleyway knife-fight against quite a few really good up and coming bands around Nashville. Before you cast a vote, I encourage you to check out some of the bands on the list. Hell, you may find one that you like more than us. If so… vote the shit out of them! Remeber, voting ends today.

We have many more things to announce and unleash in the coming months (like this), but you’ll just have to wait and see.

Don’t give up.

-Commander

Mike, you were one of the most powerful beasts I’ve ever known. You will be seriously missed by all of us in The Protomen.

CHICAGO, AMERICA!

Only two days left before we drop a glorious hammer upon you. After much deliberation, and since the occasion is such a special one, we have decided it’s time to show you the fancy poster we’ve made for this most-fancy of shows at the Metro.

This [to be] screen printed poster will be available at the show in short supply. If any survive the night, they will go online the following day at 10am at the SoundMachine Store.

Thanks to Caspar for putting it together. Thanks to Mechagodzilla for just being there.

-Commander

p.s. – If you haven’t gotten your tickets for the show… Shame on you.

CYBORG MONDAY.

Come on, Chicago, dry those tears… You didn’t think we’d abandon you for ALL of 2011, did you? (to be honest, we thought we were going to.) We’re heading your way next month to play our final show of the year. How exciting is that?! I guess you could say we saved the best for last? Don’t tell all the other cities I said that, or it’ll send the entire United States into a jealous rage which will result in a not-so-civil civil war.

On December 17th, we’ll be joining our new friends, I Fight Dragons, in Chicago for their album release show at The Metro. (Nice bit of trivia – their new album “KABOOM!” was produced by Murfreesboro’s own Matt Mahaffey.) This fancy show is going to be a nice end cap to our recent super awesome tour together.

Speaking of our recent super awesome tour together, it was an incredible time. If you came out to party with us and the dragon fighters, we’d like to thank the shit out of you for bringing plenty of thunder with you. On the other hand, I’d like to personally not thank whoever thought it was a good idea to bring ticks to the party, because it turns out that Panther played nearly all of this last tour with a fierce case of the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Ticks and parties don’t mix, people. How many times do we have to tell you? As for the rest of you non tick-bringers, it was a blast, and hope to see you again soon… perhaps in Chicago??

If you’re planning on coming, you should get your tickets immediately. And when I say, “get your tickets immediately,” I mean all four of those words. Don’t get all pissy britches when it’s the day of the show and you can’t get in, because you forgot to buy pre-sale tickets. In fact, start spreading the word to everyone you know about getting these tickets early. Like they always say, “the early bird makes the donuts.”

Don’t miss this show. It’s going to be the most ferocious.

So. What life lessons have we learned in this mailer? 1) Jealousy over Protomen’s love can easily ignite a civil war. 2) Our recent tour was super fun. 3) Never bring ticks to rock shows. 4) Never waste time not buying pre-sale tickets to our shows, or you’ll get all pissy britches. 5) Don’t get all pissy britches. 6) Those who are not on our Mailing List are missing out on the finer things in life.

From tonight until the end of time.
