MAVS SCORES ONSLAUGHT

In case you haven’t heard, Matt Pusti (MAVS), scored his first major motion picture movie film from Hollywood USA recently, and it’s real good! The movie is Onslaught, directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest, Godzilla vs Kong 1+2), and if you love 80’s era Cannon films, you’ll love it. So get to the movies asap and watch it with your own eyes and/or ears. As expected, the score is super rad (with notes of Carpenter and Tangerine Dream), and you can go ahead and gander the soundtrack on streaming platforms on your way to the movie (or while you’re on the toilet. just don’t sit there too long listening or you’ll get the hemorrhoids). And, from what I hear, a crazy awesome record is coming soon. The record is a saw blade. 

And don’t forget about his Heart Of Batman documentary score – it’s pretty awesome and has some pretty intense packaging going on. Sound Machine Records put it out a few years ago and it’s still available on our old store.

SPEAKING OF RECORDS…
We’ve got a distribution company now and they’ve started “canvasing” to gauge interest for Protomen records and CDs in record shops. They’re currently collecting data on where to focus the distribution effort, with the pre-order period for those stores to “buy-in” starting October 12th. So if you want to see our stuff in record shops, now’s the time to start giving them a gentle nudge on carrying our stuff. The more they hear our name, the more likely they are to carry our stuff in their shop. So if you happen to be in a store (or on the phone), just say something along the lines of… “I heard Protomen’s new Act III album is about to be in stores and I’m just wondering if you have it already or if you’re going to get it anytime soon?” 

And then October 12th would be a great time to really ramp up the call-a-thon or even the walk-in-a-record-store-and-ask-about-protomen-a-thon, because that’s when they’ll be able to look it up on their computators and order the records for the store on the spot. 

And if you’re feeling extra froggy, maybe ask them if they’re gonna have any T-shirts or Posters to go along with it. We’d love to get some record store exclusive designs going, but they have to want to stock it.  

So… the condensed version… Act III: This City Made Us (really rad Blue Vinyl Edition) will show up on record stores lists for pre-order starting October 12th with an official release date of November 13th. And if you’re in the calling mood and want to have Protomen stuff at your local record stores (or even non-local record stores), get to bothering them —> but for best results really focus the effort after October 12th!
