if you're desensitized to violence, which would you do in the event of a school shooting? Rush in grief counselors, OR, continue with the lesson, 30 students minus 4 students is 26 students

(stolen from George Carlin, RIP)

Personally, I'd hide behind a desk while my friend Jake snuck up on the shooter, disarmed him, and broke his arm in three places.

I'd probably end up dead because I'd run at him trying to block bullets with a book (mythbusters proved it could be done =D )

and when I got to him... I.... well I haven't gotten that far, I'd probably try to disarm him and shoot him

That's why I always brought knives to school. NO FUCKING WAY I am coming to school unarmed when there might be some asshole with a gun!

Throwing knives + ninja knife-throwing skillz = win

I saw it, and also rented First Blood. I enjoyed them both. I steered clear of the other two because I hear they're basically just action movies without any sort of a message.

Who ever said Rambo needed a message?! It's always been about masculinity and energy. MENERGY! AAAAHHHH!!!!!

But seriously, I had to buy the tin the moment the fourth movie came out. Well worth the money as I've goten about five viewings out of each disc since the collections release.

"Live for nothing or die for something" is a battle cry for Burmese resistance fighters because of that movie.

I still think First Blood was better though.

I kind of hate most movies with a clear message though. I think stories should just be about the story, but still have something meaningful. If the message is there, but somewhat hard to find and just makes you think about something, then I think they're doing it right. James Cameron usually did it pretty well since most of his action films that I can think of had something meaningful laced into it. Terminator was about responsibility, T2 was about understanding human emotion, and Aliens was about not pissing off a mom because she will tape an assault rifle and a flamethrower together and fuck you up royal...-e with cheese.

It blew my mind when he took out all the bad guys with a turrent gun and NOT HIT ANY OF THE GOOD GUYS. I mean, how did he do that? Question But I rather First Blood over the new one.

They were wearing very very thick plot armor.

They were smart enough to keep their heads down and make the civs do the same.

Sorry for necroposting. I'm a 20something and this is my introduction to Rambo. I've read the announcement several times since I signed up, but didn't think to see it until I was in Blockbuster and saw it on the shelf. All I can say is wow. That was heavy as a block of lead. Now I'm gonna go watch the other ones.

So I kinda lost the drop or two of hope I had for our species along the way. Because this shit happens for real, and there is no Rambo to stop them, and no happy endings. And the world is so self-divisive that it'll never end. And our self-dividing, self-complicating/complexifying nature will never let us beat to the same drum - that's counter to the very evolutionary chaos mathematics inherent in our very chemical makeup. The more we talk about unity, the more it's become apparent that it's a myth. So this is just a thing that will always be.

So. This will get me stoned and staked, but I see that he's right now.

All hail Wily, may he and his robotic new world order save us from ourselves.
