Everyone likes to say that they are going to make a Protomen movie. It never happens because people don't have a direction on where to go. However, TRIAL Films has a direction and an IndieGoGo page has been created because this kind of thing is not run on wishful thinking and smiles.

If you are a fan (which you clearly are) there is no reason to not donate at least a dollar. Compared to other fan films and just movies in general $8500 is miniscule and we can have this movie done right with that amount.

Please don't write this off as "another idea". This is THE idea and this will be something to be remembered. Be a part of something truly amazing people.

Here is the IndieGoGo link if you wish to donate. http://www.indiegogo.com/TRIAL-Films-The-Will-of-One?a=376510

Okay, why do you need $8500? Seriously, why?

No, seriously, why?

For that matter, have you cleared this with the band?

Because this kind of thing is not run on smiles and wishful thinking. Costumes, cameras, set design, stunt work, artists, CGI all of that costs money.

And 8,500 is going to cover all of that? A project that is supposed to be completed in full by a bunch of amateur fans? I'm not trying to insult I'm just trying to be reasonable for both sides, film and funds.

Eddie Lebron's movie only cost like two or three thousand to make, and say what you will about the script and acting, he did pretty well with just that as far as effects and costumes (except for the weird silent robots). Three or four times as much could probably go pretty far in that department.

Well he also knew a lot of people and got a lot of pro bono stuff done. All I'm concerned with is once the money is gone will the drive still be there. I can't any way contribute because I'm broke. I'm just burned out on all of the fan films. There have been 3, maybe 4 here in the recent past pop up.

There have indeed been many people who have attempted fan films based on The Protomen's story. For whatever reason, none have been successful. My guess is that they simply could not get enough funding or support for such an ambitious project. Or they simply gave up hope.

Once the money is "gone"? You mean once it has all been spent? If anything that just ups the ante. Because once all the money has been spent, filming can actually start. The group that has been assembled has no intention of giving up, despite any obstacles.

There's only three things that could shut this down at this point.

- All attempts to raise the added funds fail.

- The Protomen say they'd prefer there wasn't a fan film made.

- Capcom says they'd prefer there wasn't a fan film made.

Gotta tackle these issues one at a time, and keep pushing forward until one of these things happen. If none of these things happen, there's nothing standing in the way. Like Crowbar stated, a lot of what is happening requires money. Mainly paying off a variety of artists, and purchasing proper equipment for stunt rigs. You'd be surprised how far $8,500 can go when you've contacted the right people who are just as passionate as you are.

Edit: Also it's important to note that both The Protomen and Capcom are aware of what we're trying to do. Hence why they have the power to pull the plug on this project entirely should their stance be a negative one.

Ultimately however this is a "fan film", it's not official. It's a collective hive-mind of talented fans breathing life into a tale that they've fallen in love with. Now if The Protomen do lend us their support in our dreams and ambitions, raising the funds should prove to be the least of the concerns.

I dunno. I just don't really forsee a budget of '8 grand' being necessary. You could do more with less.

I support this project. Unfortunately I lack the funds to support it financially.

I would be willing to help out if you are looking for an audio engineer or composer. I have extensive recording experience and music degree.

I would prefer that there be no music that wasn't Protomen. (This includes shit like the website songs.)
