Hi everyone
So I've heard that there's a tradition of giving small care packages to the band, and a bunch of us Bostonian fans have decided we'd like to do something like when they come to PAXEast
(Panther promised me they were coming to PAXEast so it must be so, and if it is not I will cry deep, manly tears until it becomes so)
My main question is, what kinds of things are good to include in care packages, and what are things we should absolutely avoid doing? Particularly I'm interested in things they don't usually get, but are interested in having.
Mainly, I know that:
* Panther won't eat anything that isn't prepackaged and unopened, due to the Brownie Incident. I don't know about the other band members, though.
* Sir Robert is vegan
* Reanimator hates pie crust, according to his Tumblr.
Is anyone allergic to anything, are there other restrictions, what IS the deal about prepackaged/not prepackaged, what about stuff like extra socks, drumsticks, guitar picks, other instrument care items?
Thanks.

The "home-made goods" thing stems from the Nerdapalooza cookie incident. |
I'm so sad I missed that spectacle. I've heard the stories but I wish I could have seen it first hand...
Also to make things a bit easier, I'm like 99.9% sure Bakker is just a vegetarian. |

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've gathered, something about the green room confectioneries at Nerdapalooza didn't entirely agree with many folks who ate them. Somebody online claimed that just one made him feel pretty woozy, and that Panther had nommed a couple of 'em, so suffice to say, he was out for the show.
But it led to what everyone who witnessed it said was a ridiculously fierce show where they did all the songs that other Protos could manage without Panther, relied on the crowd to sing a few of the remainder while KILROY passed the mic around the crowd, and topped it off with the experience of this fan's life... This guy's, too. |

They were special baked goods.
Special.
Baked.
Goods. |

My care packages almost always end up with random candies procured from Asian groceries and a fistful of cheap novelty pins included. These things are generally popular among people who do not have access to the same markets I have access to.
Also, with one very notable and incredibly unusual exception (she ended up allergic to the particular ume flavoring), they've been universally safe for whatever diets. Except maybe diabetics. |

If somebody else could confirm this, that'd make my life SO MUCH SIMPLER, because while I love Vegans, they are often a pain to get things for.
Also you haven't really answered the baked goods thing? Namely, yes! I know about the brownie/cookie/"special baked goods" incident, but does that mean that NOBODY touches home baked goods, or just Panther, or... what.
TL;DR -- IS IT OKAY FOR ME TO MAKE SOME GODDAMN DATE BARS, OR WILL I BE FORCED TO EAT THEM MYSELF not that this is a bad thing, as my date bars are fucking delicious |

Panther avoids; everyone else is pretty cool about it. I just gave them a cheesecake in November and everyone was super excited. (Except Commander, because he doesn't like cheesecake, but hey. Can't win 'em all.)
Also given the nature of the incident I'm not sure if Panther ever ate any of my cheesecake or not. (That sounds dirty. Um.) |
