Protomen - the Comm ~ View topic

So, Act III is, assumedly, already in the works. But I'm noticing a distinct lack of buzz around these parts compared to the pre-Act II chatter. Thus, this thread. Post your predictions for the final chapter in the Protomen's story, and in general just get all-around hyped up.

My prediction:

Act III will open several years after the close of Act I. Mega Man and Light are both nowhere to be found, and the City suffers under Wily's rule as it has for years now. My guess is that the story is going to focus on Roll, a human girl (and the one shown crying over Proto Man's helmet at the end of the story booklet for Act I), deciding to break out of the City in search of Mega Man, in hopes of convincing him to come back and save mankind. Probably she'll be hunted down by robuhts when she gets outside of the City, and Mega Man will swoop in and save her at the last minute. However, he'll refuse to come back with her to the City; after trying in vain to convince him that humanity is worth saving, she'll give up and end up going off to try to take down Wily herself. When she returns, she'll try to convince the citizens of the City to stand and fight, but none will listen... except for the youth of the city, who, like her, are frustrated living under Wily's rule and by their elders' complacency. Rallying eachother, an army of the young will rise up, lead by Roll, and march on Wily's fortress. Of course, they'll be hopelessly outmatched, but at the last minute their standing up will inspire Mega Man to join them and finish what he started years earlier. Epic battle, robots get crushed by the waves of the young lead by Mega Man and Roll, and in the end Mega Man leaves Wily at the mercy of the crowd.

Also Light might show up too, and Turbo Lover gets a few lines if not a song to himself.

I will be immensely disappointed if Turbo Lover doesn't get some more singing time in Act III, haha.

Anyway, that sounds pretty plausible. I'd think that maybe Light and Wily would have some kind of final confrontation with each other though. The whole thing with them seems like it needs some closure. Otherwise, I don't really have any other ideas about what will happen...though I do hope we get SOME form of a happy ending after Acts I and II being such big downers, haha.

Thank you for starting this topic. There needs to be more talk of speculation and news!

If we are assuming that Act III will end on a happier note. Then I definitely think it will revolve around human character and less robots. Mankind will finally stand for itself!

I love the idea of Wily and Light in one final scene together! A showdown between two old codgers just sounds awesome. They are getting very old though. I kind of also think it would be appropriate for them to be put to rest. They both could confront each other in the midst of the slaughter that ends Act I. Wily has Light killed by his robots. Not much later, Wily dies of old age. Passing on his rule to a computer or something. (Sigma anyone!?)

I like to think Megaman comes back, many years later, to see what became of his father. He keeps incognito and lays low. He might give out his name as "X" (Which would be the coolest fanservice ever!). He stumbles across a resistance group and does not reveal himself in order to avoid a repeat of Act I. He won't help man until man helps itself.

Man. Act III is going to rule. I think I'm just going to hibernate until it comes out.

Well, since the band retconned their self-titled album into being title "Act I", and then we retconned it into being titled "Act I: The Sons Of Fate" (That happened, right?), then my only hope for Act III is that they keep up the naming system of "The (NOUN) of (ADJECTIVE)".
Cause that's cool.

Considering the path their musical styles have taken, not just in terms of skill, but also how each style reflects the time period of the story, I theorize that Act III will (assuming it's the end of the story and the fall of Wily) be a power metal album.

Eeeeh, I'm not very keen on the idea of Wily killing Light then dying of old age. Seems sort of...cheap, really. Kinda hope that doesn't happen, haha.
