At the Battle of Austin, in which I traveled 6 hours to attend, it was the only show on that tour Duane and Brando and Super 8-bit Brothers both missed, and The Protomen arrived late.
But we didn't care.
The venue was over a parking garage, and by the end of the show the floor was shaking so much that the adjacent building reported the ground swayed as if an earthquake were hitting.
It was an incredible show. Thankfully I do not have to brave such a drive again, for The Conservatory is hosting a second Battle of OKC and I am SO hyped. |

I was thinking about A&G Ohio and remembered a gem.
Basically my BFF Chris looks exactly like Murphy with the facepaint on. So during the show, Murphy hands Chris a tambourine to play at the same time.
This, apparently, really messed with Panther. After the show he came up to Chris and said something to the effect of, "Yeah, I glanced at you and wondered why the hell Murhpy was in the crowd..."
It was brilliant. |

Everyone was confused by us! I swear, people would just come up and be like, "When are you guys going on?!"
Kinda awkward to watch their facial expression go from excited to crushed in 2.6 seconds when we told them that we weren't REALLY them.
Even the guy running the whole ordeal thought we were part of the group. We just thought we were being funny.
All of that fame, though... It was glorious knowing that people were staring because they thought I was this badass chick that played in a badass band.
Also, my BFF Chris totally talked to some dude who thought he was Murphy. He never said he wasn't. Just played along. That was one of the more hilarious moments of our doppelganger ordeal. |

| Remembered a time when i heard Panther of The Protomen warming up his voice. Not having anything to compare it to, nor knowing what it was, I described it to my mom as "Panther opera." |

This one is less funny and more cool/OMG!
At the Danbury show, I felt bold enough to request a song. I asked Panther "Can you guys do Unrest in the House of Light?" and he says "Uh, I can't make any promises. Don't hold me to it." Then he left, and I was like "Shit!"
A little while later, the show starts, Kilroy leaves, and Panther picks up the acoustic guitar. I think to myself 'Hmm, Father of Death is an interesting way to start the show.'
Then Reanimator starts doing the drumbeat. And I think 'Nah, couldn't be.'
Then Panther comes forward, and says "This one's is for the kid in the front." I freak out and jump up and down.
I couldn't believe they were actually gonna do Unrest first... and they did. Panther even did this weird grin and looked right in my camera as I filmed it (though I didn't get the whole thing). It was awesome. And I even got one of Reanimator's (many) broken drumsticks.
All in all, a good night. |
