Depends on if Capcom will let them use Mega Man, or at least his likeness.

Also, how will the addition of keyboards affect this?

Keyboard = Synth = Protomen goodness.

You wait until Frets on Fire adds support for that keyboard, me and a few others already want to fret songs for that.

MAYBE THAT WILL INSPIRE OTHERS?

As people seem to be reviving this thread, how about this good ol' link?

http://www.rockband.com/request

I'd suggest we storm it with requests...
If we can organize enough, maybe they'll actually do it. From the looks of the Song Title suggestion field, I think we've already had a bunch of people suggest them. Let's keep it going, shall we?

There are several songs in both Act I and II which do not mention any Mega Man characters by name (much more so in Act II), so I think they would be OK using those (or at least they would likely run into less trouble.)

Hi all. Long time lurker. I really cannot express just how much I love the work this band has done. Despite thousands and thousands of songs on my ipod, I get into these "moods" where the only thing I need is to put Act I and II on repeat to be satisfied. Great music, great story...just brilliant period.

But I finally decided to post in here cuz I'm also a pretty die hard RB/GH fan. I've spent about 15,000 Microsoft points on Rock Band DLC and now that I'm back on Xbox Live after a long hiatus I just stocked up on another 5k that I plan on spending this weekend now that I own RB3.

But I see it's been a year in this thread and no news and I just want to rez the topic because as extensive and awesome as the DLC available for these games are, there are some absolutely tragic holes in their collection (needz moar jazz/blues/acoustic/off the wall stuff), and perhaps the most tragic to this obsessive guy is the lack of Protomen tracks to play.

I know it's a ton of work, but I'm just curious if the gang is still considering this venture. Give me something to look forward to besides Act III!

They just said in November that it was coming. Eventually.

Oh man I missed this. Most of November/Dec I was out of town so I only just skimmed things occasionally. Have a link?

Find the InDisFest audio bootleg. I mean, I have it, I'm just too lazy to put it up right now...also I made it.

Will look for it.

That's great news. I used to be a custom charter over at Scorehero.com during the Guitar Hero 2 days, which was a much simpler time when you only had to worry about guitar charts, PS2s were easily moddable, and GH2 was easily hacked to replace existing tracks with your own.

When I took requests I did conventional stuff the likes of GnR, Buckethead, Maiden, Metallica (did 2 Minutes to Midnight, Wherever I May Roam, The Thing That Should Not Be AGES before they ever were officially made). But personally I preferred less conventional stuff like Buddy Guy, Santo and Jonny, Guster, and Bela Fleck for my charts.

Nowadays though you pretty much have to rely on Harmonix and/or Neversoft and the bands in question if you ever hope to see your song/band of choice in-game.

So yeah...notwithstanding the high quality of material, with their video game roots, if anybody deserves to be in RB it's the Protomen!

Excellent to hear.

I would also like to express my will for seeing this happen. I am aware they made mention of it in a video, and I know they're quite busy now; touring, Act III, Act IV(Told us they were working on during a show in Georgia. XP), but it's a bit disheartening to see that this thread has been dead for more than a year.

If it is funding that the Protomen need for this expenditure, I'm sure the fanbase would love to donate via Kickstarter or the like. Crowdsourcing for the actual work would be awesome too.

I'm not looking for a response, I just want to re-affirm that the fanbase wants this as much as I do. While I can (attempt) to sing Vengeance as best as I can, doing it with friends would just make something so !@#$ing awesome many times more so.

I doubt there's an Act IV; they've pretty much repeatedly said Act III will be the end of the story. So I'd like a sauce on this.

So... No news about this?

I really want to play Protomen in pretty much all of the instruments.

I'm really hoping for this... Unfortunately, as we all know: hope rides alone...
