We knew this was coming since November at InDisfest, and Murphy and Reanimator have been talking about this a couple of days now, but it's pretty much official as official can be. Reanimator just posted a new drum cam video this morning and confirms recording began Feb 6. Alan Shacklock's the man in charge again (as for Act II).

Shit be getting real, yo. No titles or album title yet. Intended release late 2011...ish.

(With Reanimator's kind permission, crossposting like a mofo. And yeah, both wikis are updated already.)

Awesome! I knew they've been spending some time in the studio lately, but I didn't know if it was this or new material.

And he does play the drum line to another classic as well. I would say the name but Im not sure they want us sharing titles. I took a guess at it on the youtube page and my comment where I guessed the track has been removed. But if the song Im thinking of is indeed on the album I am more than excited

I'm pretty sure I know the song you're talking about

Yeah, it's not hard to ID the tracks if you've been following the band for any significant amount of time (as most of us here have been, like rabid weasels). That's the big problem with internet leaks - things tend to move way fast once the hivemind gets hold of something.

Ha, I knew somebody on here would be able to recognize them...I could not, so I was hoping somebody would do the work for me.

OH WELL, looks like I'll wait for an official announcement.

So how excited should I be based on the track guesses? Super excited? THE RATTLE SNAKE excited?

Finally, I've been waiting for a cover album..but I expected them to do it after they finished Act III.

I won't speculate on timing or the reasons thereof, but I can see why they'd do it now instead of waiting. This is gonna be a great year for stuff.

I wanna know what they're gonna title it. Half of me thinks they'll name it something serious, and half of me thinks they'll name it something utterly ridiculous like The Protomen Cover Your Favourite Mad Jamz From The 80s, 90s, 00s, And Today (But Mostly The 80s).

Actually, something not dissimilar from Amanda Palmer's recent Radiohead on Ukelele album would be funny and interesting.

I hope they cover Danger Zone, but I get the feeling that was a Heath Who Hath No Name bit.
