hi.
i heard about protomen on myspace. i only just recently found out about this forum. a couple of months ago i went back to japan to visit with family and i found some old tapes i had recorded when i was little. one of them is basically a bunch of my favorite songs from old games just stuff in general that i recorded with a microphone. the quality isn't the best but i listened to it anyway just for nostalgia sake. about halfway through the tape there is a song that sounds pretty much exactly like will of one! when i got back to LA (where i live) i compared it to the mp3 i downloaded from myspace and they are pretty much identical. i have absolutely no idea what game this is from and now i really wish i had labelled the tape. i could probably record the tape as an mp3 but i don't have webspace to post it on. |

| Well seeing how the Protomen were inspired by Megaman, and Megaman came out for NES and Famicom, It's no suprise that you'll find similar music in the games. The opening theme for Megaman II comes to mind. |

and do you guys think that when megaman says "i've seen this city a thousand times" he really has because he's a robot and banks all that data in his head?...

| As I've previoucly mentioned, The will of One's core sounds very much like the old Flash Man stage from Mega Man 2. Check the link given above, an listen to the sample there, see if it sound like the song you've got. |

| i checked out the sample and it's def not the song i've got on the tape. this song is nearly identical. not so much like a little part of the melody, it's pretty much the whole song. i wasn't sure if anyone else had talked about this song on the forum, so i thought i'd see if anyone could help me figure out where the song came from. i could maybe put it on rapidshare or something. |

| Yeah, fix it so we can hear it, someone oughta recognise it. I've played a lot of NES-games myself, so maybe I'll recognise the tune. |

Have you considered the possibility that this tape is from the future?
Or rather, it's from the future of when you were a little kid...which would be the present now...
Get it? |

I'm just gonna bring my "tape from the future" theory up again, because that IS Will of One.
Holy crap dude, this is really REALLY weird.
There's some parts in there that are DEFINITELY the same as in Will Of One.
We're gonna need one of the Protomen to weigh in on this. |
